Because that is how you already think about your business. An airport is a market - it has its own zone scheme, its own rate sheet, its own hotel file from Expedia. You know your airport count without looking it up; you would have to open a spreadsheet and count rows to know your hotel count. The work of setting up and maintaining a market is per-airport, so that is what we charge for.

Any airport you have opened as a market. Opening one is permanent: you can run as many projects there as you like, and deleting them does not close the market, so you can wipe last quarter's file and rebuild it next quarter at no extra cost. You keep every market you have opened. If you genuinely need to hand one back you can release up to 2 a year, and releasing is separate from billing - your plan quantity only changes when you change it, in the billing portal.

No. Zone 400 hotels at an airport or 10,000 - the price is the same. Hotel volume is your business, not our meter.

Setting up your first airport takes real work, so that one is $75 - that is Solo. Your fortieth is mostly a repeat of a pattern you have already established, so every airport after the first costs less: $22 each up to 10, $9 up to 50, and $3 beyond. A second airport costs $22, not another $75, and a large network is never punished for its size. At 5 airports you pay about $33 per airport; at 100, about $8.

No. Every account starts with a 30-day free trial on one airport - every feature, no card. The clock starts when you open your first airport, not when you sign up, so take your time setting up. When the trial ends nothing is deleted: your work stays there to open and export, read-only, until you choose a plan. One airport is $75 a month on Solo.

No. GroundZones is where your hotel association files live between updates. Expedia sends you a new hotel file, you merge it into the one you already zoned, re-zone what changed, and export it back in the same column layout you started with. Your Expedia setup is untouched.

No. Rules are there to do the boring first pass, but plenty of markets are faster to zone by hand: box-select a district on the map and set the whole selection to one zone. Use rules, use selection, or use both - nothing is required.
